I started my wealth management career with Lloyds Private Banking over 20 years ago in Exeter. I am delighted to now be one of a relatively small number of advisers in the UK who can use the term Fellow of the Personal Finance Society & Chartered Financial Planner. By definition, those who hold the Fellowship status are considered among the most experienced and qualified advisers in the profession.
The ethos at Rodney Spiller Wealth Management is a perfect match for me. I feel strongly that our clients must be offered a personalised, face to face service, meaning we can ensure everyone’s individual circumstances are understood and reflected in the advice we give.
I am married with two gorgeous yet strong-willed teenagers and appreciate first-hand the ups and downs of day-to-day life when you’ve got a growing family. Do we even have time to think about our long-term finances?
I find it a very satisfying part of my job when I can take away the pressure people feel about their finances and find the best wealth management solutions for them. Helping a client optimise their savings and investments – and then see the shift in their thinking as they look forward to their financial future instead of fearing it – is hugely rewarding.
In this fast-moving industry, it’s important for me to keep learning so I can deliver the best possible service to my clients.
When I’m not in the office, my family and I make the most of our boat whenever we can, moored not far from the office at Exmouth Marina. When we’re on dry land, I’m a great lover of the National Trust, and can often be found pouring over dusty old houses and beautiful gardens around the South West.
The value of an investment with St. James's Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds you select and the value can therefore go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invested.
